Fotografien 1984 bis 2009\u2033<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Die Berlinische Galerie zur Ausstellung:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Nan Goldins Fotografien sind Bilder ihres Lebens. Sie zeigen in unersch\u00f6pflicher F\u00fclle die \u201eFamilie\u201c Goldins \u2013 ihre Freunde, Bekannten, Liebhaber. Seit sie mit 14 Jahren ihr Elternhaus verlie\u00df, lebte sie mit einer Subkulturszene von Drag Queens, Transvestiten und Homosexuellen zuerst in Boston und ab 1978 in New York. 1991 kam sie durch ein DAAD-Stipendium nach Berlin und blieb hier mit kurzen Unterbrechungen bis 1994. Seither ist sie immer wieder zur\u00fcckgekehrt.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Die Ausstellung gibt mit 80 teils noch nie gezeigten Fotografien einen umfassenden \u00dcberblick der in Berlin entstandenen Arbeiten. Thematisch und chronologisch pr\u00e4sentiert gew\u00e4hren K\u00fcnstler- und Selbstportr\u00e4ts, Interieurs und Stillleben einen Einblick in die Person und das Umfeld der K\u00fcnstlerin. Vier Bildtableaus, die so genannten \u201egrids\u201c, leisten als narrative Sequenzen einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Verst\u00e4ndnis von Goldins Berlin-Bild und zeigen die Stadt in ihrer Bedeutung als Ort k\u00fcnstlerischer Kreation und Transition.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Goldin besuchte 1982 (auf Einladung von Alf Boldt \u2020 18.8.1993 an den Folgen von Aids) erstmals Berlin. Sie lebte von 1991 bis 1994 in Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>Nan Goldin setzte sich in ihren Arbeiten immer wieder mit HIV und Aids auseinander. Sie betont selbst \u201cAIDS changed everything in my life. There\u2019s life before AIDS, and after AIDS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Die 1953 geborene Goldin erz\u00e4hlte (auf digitaljournalist) selbst, wie es dazu kam:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cMy art was the diary of my life. I photographed the people around me. I didn\u2019t think of them as people with AIDS. About \u201985, I realized that many of the people around me were positive. David Armstrong took an incredible picture of Kevin, his lover at the time, right before Kevin went into the hospital. I photographed him when he was healthy. At that stage, we still didn\u2019t know very much. There was a lot of ignorance. We were very obsessed with what caused it: There were all kinds of rumors, everything from amyl nitrate to bacon. People were tested and being told they had something called ARC, that quickly became medically non-relevant. I was in denial that people were going to die. I thought people could beat it. And then people started dying.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Goldins bisher bekannteste (und m.E. bewegendste) Arbeit ist \u201cThe Ballad of Sexual Dependency\u201d (Titel entlehnt aus Brechts Dreigroschenoper), eine Serie von ungef\u00e4hr 700 Dias aus ihrem Freundes- und Bekanntenkreis, die 1986 auch als Buch erschien.<\/p>\n<p>Nan Goldin.
